Get It Out of Your Head And Into Your Hands!

I don't do a lot of product recommendations, but I've found one I love and I have to shout about it. It's called Rocketbook by Pilot. It's a notebook for your handwritten notes.

You write down your notes in the notebook, then use their scanning app on your phone and the transcription and the picture are uploaded. During the setup, you designate where you want to store your notes. You can have up to ten locations. For each page of notes, you mark at the bottom of the page the desired location for storage and then your notes are ready to be uploaded. You can send them to email, Google Drive, OneNote, DropBox, Slack, and many more!

I send my notes to OneNote (another Favorite tool) and each page I scan is uploaded directly into my OneNote section as its own page. By writing “##YourTitleHere##” at the top of the page, your page title is automatically labeled in your Email or OneNote page. The transcriptions aren't perfect because I scribble. Nothing close to the penmanship I was taught in the third grade, so there are a lot of missed words. However, if the information is something important, I will make sure I correct the transcription so it is easily found if searched. Most of the time, I just look at a couple of key words for the content and make sure that they are clear. By looking at the picture of my handwriting, it's easy for me to understand my notes. The advantage of digitizing your notes is that you can easily search them. I have OneNote notebooks back to 2016 and if I can get close on the content I need, it finds it easily through search.

Here is the best part, once I've scanned and uploaded the page, I wipe it clean with a spritz of water and the soft towel they provide. It's ready for another note taking session. You have to use their pens, but I was already buying Pilot pens for my paper so no harm done there. The Rocketbook pens write smooth like gel pens and the notebook writing surface has a little less friction than paper. It’s almost exactly the same satisfying experience of taking pen to paper.

Now, all the sticky notes and paper notepads are gone. My scribbles on a call are in my notebook and if they are important, I scan them. If not, they are wiped away. It's cathartic not having paper around!  They market it as the last notebook you'll ever buy. While that may be true, I've already bought a second one for a gift and I wanted to gift you with the knowledge of this outstanding product as well.
